Community Volunteerism: Support and care for one another to create a beautiful neighborhood.
In 1996, Tzu Chi started to campaign for community volunteering, where volunteers are encouraged to share their experiences at community gatherings to improve their professionalism and develop a volunteering spirit. To recruit more volunteers, they welcome people into their homes to host “Spread the Seeds of Love” gatherings while also encouraging people in their neighborhoods to join in their Great Love activities. They also actively look for people in need in their communities. Through their initiative, volunteers have established a mutual aid network of inter-connected communities. As a result, the residents of a community can live in peace and they can also help care for other communities in need.
