In a world where collaboration is key to addressing global challenges, Tzu Chi has been at the forefront of forming meaningful partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs). These alliances are pivotal in advancing sustainable development goals and providing humanitarian aid to those in need. Through shared resources and a unified vision, Tzu Chi and its partners strive to create a more compassionate and sustainable world.
In 2023, Tzu Chi collaborated with over 30 global organizations to provide aid in disaster-affected regions. As a special consultative member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2010, Tzu Chi is deeply involved in global decision-making processes, ensuring that its actions align with the SDGs and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

Global Partnerships for Sustainability and Climate Action
Tzu Chi's commitment to sustainability extends beyond immediate relief, focusing on long-term environmental stewardship and climate resilience. Since 1991, Tzu Chi has championed sustainable practices, integrating environmental consciousness into disaster response and daily life. Collaborating with NGOs worldwide, Tzu Chi promotes responsible consumption and plant-based living as solutions to pressing environmental challenges.

In 2023, Tzu Chi's dedication was showcased at COP28 in Dubai, where they joined nearly 200 countries to discuss global carbon reduction, fossil fuel limitations, and the "Loss and Damage Fund." These dialogues also addressed the link between climate change, refugees, and food security, emphasizing faith-based solutions and interfaith collaboration.

Beyond COP28, Tzu Chi continues to participate in key international forums and UN conferences, such as the UN Climate Week, UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), and regional sustainability summits. These engagements allow Tzu Chi to amplify Buddhist environmental values, collaborate with global partners, and drive action for a more sustainable world.
Interfaith and Cultural Partnerships
Tzu Chi actively collaborates with faith-based organizations to deliver aid and foster interfaith dialogue. These partnerships strengthen humanitarian cooperation across religious communities. At the 2023 Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, Tzu Chi joined over 80 countries and 210 religions in forums like "The Life of Buddha" and "Green Buddhism: Turning Trash into Treasure." A Buddhist prayer room hosted a Buddha bathing ceremony led by Dharma masters from Jing Si Abode, showcasing Tzu Chi’s humanitarian mission.

At the closing of the Parliament, Ven. Dharma Master Cheng Yen delivered a video address titled “Purifying Minds for a Peaceful World.” Speaking from Jing Si Abode in Hualien, Taiwan, she shared a heartfelt message on the unifying power of love in all religions, emphasizing:
“The core essence of all religions is love. With love, we can inspire the materially poor to become spiritually wealthy. The purpose of each and every religion is to purify hearts and bring peace to the world. Only then can a Pure Land on Earth be possible. When every one of us shares the same heart, we can head in the same direction and accomplish what we aspire to do.”
Master Cheng Yen’s message resonated with attendees, reinforcing Tzu Chi’s commitment to global harmony and collective action for a better world.
Empowering Women and Advancing Gender Equality
Tzu Chi's participation in the 69th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York highlighted its commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment. As an ECOSOC-accredited NGO, Tzu Chi joined global delegates to advocate for transformative change through vocational education and holistic strategies.
