Creating Moments of Comfort Amid Adversity
For nearly three years, the war between Russia and Ukraine has caused immense hardship to those living in Ukraine. Despite the ongoing turmoil, residents of a shelter in Kyiv have found solace in community and shared resilience.

As the New Year approached, Tzu Chi volunteers helped bring warmth to the shelter, where families tried to maintain a festive spirit despite the ever-present sound of artillery. "Every time I call my relatives in the village, I feel anxious, not knowing if they are still alive," shared one refugee, her voice trembling with emotion.
Sustaining Hope Through Humanitarian Aid
As the war stretches into another year, the need for relief remains urgent. Tzu Chi’s food packages have provided much-needed assistance to displaced families, ensuring they have access to basic necessities.
Refugee Katerina expressed her gratitude, "Tzu Chi's help is crucial for us, for my son, and for everyone here. It makes us feel that we are not alone in this world."
Beyond material aid, the support serves as a reminder that the world has not forgotten them. Through sustained humanitarian efforts, the goal is to help those affected by war face the future with strength and resilience, with hopes that they will one day rebuild their lives.
